In 1977, Groups came together in an assembly to proclaim March 8th as the Day for womens rights, commemorating the political, social and economic achievements of women. Throughout time, the idea of Women’s Day celebration has evolved and embraced culture and ethnicity to develop as a celebration of appreciation, respect, and love towards women. I strongly believe that the 8th of March must become a public holiday. They portray an image of the younger generation along with conveying the message of the importance of women in society. This day has personally inspired and affected me because I feel connected to something where I could feel proud of who I am and embrace what has been given to me so that later oni can pass it down to the next generations and the next to come.Above all, it is crucial for International women’s day to become a public holiday because it shares our ancestor’s history as they fought for our freedom and inspired us to stand up for ourselves. It connects women from all around the world and creates a bond between us all, accepting each other no matter what race, color, religion or age.
